Lakeside Park
The
Town of Granite Falls
recently purchased 72 acres
of property from Crescent
Resources, LLC located on
scenic Lake Rhodhiss. The
property was acquired
through a $540,000 grant
from the NC Clean Water
Management Trust Fund and a
$250,000 grant from the NC
Parks and Recreation Trust
Fund (Part F). The Town
added $129,000 in local
money to complete the
purchase. The primary goals
of this project are to
protect the Town's public
water supply (located just
downstream from this
property) and to provide
recreational opportunities
to the citizens of Granite
Falls.
The
Lakeside Park will feature
numerous trails for
walking/hiking and mountain
biking. The clearly marked
trails will be interspersed
with opportunities to enjoy
the water front views.

Canoe
rental available
contact the
Recreation Dept. for more
details.
The park
will feature three separate
fishing decks that have been
strategically located to
afford the best
opportunities for success
and provide fantastic views
of the lake. A canoe launch
will be incorporated into
one of the decks.
A picnic
shelter will be available
for birthday parties, family
gatherings or just relaxing
by the lake and enjoying the
scenery and wildlife.
Bathroom facilities are also
on site.
